गोलीले छालालाइ कुनै पनि हानी नपुर्याएका कारण ती ५७ वर्षे महिलाको ज्यान जोगिएको छ । महिलाको पहिचान चाहिँ प्रहरीले खुलाएको छैन । उनलाइ तत्काल अस्पताल पुर्याइएको र डाक्टरले पनि उनलाइ ज्यानको कुनै खतरा नरहेको बताएका छन् ।

Make sure your wardrobe only includes the ’skinny’ clothes. If you don’t have clothes that are comfortable when you’re heavier, you’re more likely to be reminded to keep slim every time you dress. And if you have to purchase a whole new wardrobe you’re less likely to gain weight. Use smaller plates. It’s proven that people eat what’s in front of them. Use the salad plates instead of dinner plates. Similar to the idea of using smaller plates, serve your food on the plate rather than in bowls on the table. When the plate is empty the meal is over, instead of spooning another portion onto your plate. Don’t eat white bread, sugar or white rice. Why Do You Develop Wrinkles?

The network of collagen fibers and elastin which provide a sort of scaffolding for the surface layer begin to loosen and unravel. Skin then loses its elasticity. It tends to droop and forms furrows.
The oil secreting and sweat glands atrophy, and the skin cannot retain its moisture. Therefore, it becomes dry and scaly. Constant facial expressions form characteristic lines. Gravity makes the situation worse and contributes to the formation of drooping eyelids and jowls. Also, eyebrows tend to move up as someone ages perhaps because of forehead wrinkles and the skin has less of an ability to repair itself so wounds heal more slowly.
There are other forces at play that can make your skin suffer, such as :
1. The sun damages collagen fibers and causes an accumulation of abnormal elastin. Metalloproteinases, or enzymes, are produced that are able to repair most of the damage, however, it is this repetition of the rebuilding process that is done over and over again that causes skin problems.
2. The sun's UV radiation promotes oxidation. This also leads to the development of skin abnormalities.
3. Cigarette smoking causes the thickening and fragmentation of elastin, reduces circulation and the amount of oxygen that is supplied to the skin, and leads to less Collagen formation and reduced water content in the skin. Lastly, smoking compromises the ability of the skin to fend off free radicals causing cell destruction.
4. Air pollution – Ozone may be a problem for the skin. It may cause depletion of Vitamin E in the skin which is a vital antioxidant.
5. Rapid weight loss – This can cause fine lines since it reduces the volume of fat cells which cushion the face. This will cause the skin to sag.
6. Heredity – You may have inherited some skin characteristics from your parents.
Wrinkles are the most noticable signs of aging. As tissues sag, these lines form a type of canvas that is covered with cracks that have varying depths. As time marches on, they deepen and reach the dermis. As the dermis loses its elasticity, it becomes slack which leads to the formation of more pronounced wrinkles over 0.05 mm in depth.
Here is the normal progression of wrinkles characterized by age group:
20-25 – Vertical wrinkles on one's forehead and even between the eyebrows may already be visible. Fine lines at the external edges of the eyes are not yet noticeable.
25-40 – In the epidermis, wrinkles begin to deepen. They are less than 0.0005 mm in depth. They are caused by the superficial drying out of one's skin as well as the slowing down of cellular renewal.
40-50 – Fine lines around the lips, crow's feet, furrows alongside of the nose and the line between the eyebrows are all beginning to deepen. The skin loses it elasticity and the facial contours are not less well defined.
50 and over – Hormonal secretions end as menopause appears and this speeds up the aging process. The skin's surface begins to modify and intermediary lines are replaced by ever deepening furrows.
The older you become, the more wrinkles you get. You can minimize this damage by taking good care of your skin.

Drink more water every day


Water is the most needed chemical compound of our body. Without the daily necessary amount of water our body functions would be forced to shut down. The human body is anywhere from 55% to 78% water depending on body size. To function properly, the body requires between one and seven liters of water per day to avoid dehydration; the precise amount depends on the level of activity, temperature, humidity, and other factors. Most of this is ingested through foods or beverages other than drinking straight water. It is not clear how much water intake is needed by healthy people, though most advocates agree that 6–7 glasses of water (approximately 2 litres) daily is the minimum to maintain proper hydration. Medical literature favors a lower consumption, typically 1 liter of water for an average male, excluding extra requirements due to fluid loss from exercise or warm weather. For those who have healthy kidneys, it is rather difficult to drink too much water, but (especially in warm humid weather and while exercising) it is dangerous to drink too little. People can drink far more water than necessary while exercising, however, putting them at risk of water intoxication (hyperhydration), which can be fatal. The "fact" that a person should consume eight glasses of water per day cannot be traced back to a scientific source. There are other myths such as the effect of water on weight loss and constipation that have been dispelled.

Determine how much water you need. You've probably heard the "8 by 8" rule - drink eight 8-ounce glasses of water per day (2 quarts, 1.8 liters) - but the amount of water a person needs varies depending on his or her weight and activity level. Another way to determine your specific recommended water intake is to divide your weight (in pounds) by two. The resulting number is the number of ounces of water you need each day. For example, if you weigh 150 lbs., strive to drink 75 ounces of water daily. For those who use the Metric system, divide your weight (in kilograms) by 30 (ex. somebody weighing 70 kg is going to need 2.3 liters per day). Keep in mind that these recommended intake numbers are controversial and some experts believe they are a gross exaggeration. See "warnings" below for more information.

Signs of Dehydration. You lose water through urination, respiration, and by sweating. If you are very active, you lose more water than if you are sedentary. Diuretics such as caffeine pills and alcohol result in the need to drink more water because they trick your body into thinking you have more water than we need. Symptoms of mild dehydration include chronic pains in joints and muscles,lower back pain, headaches and constipation. A strong odor to your urine, along with a yellow or amber color indicates that you may not be getting enough water. Note that riboflavin, a B Vitamin, will make your urine bright yellow. Thirst is an obvious sign of dehydration and in fact, you need water long before you feel thirsty.

Dangers of Too Much Water. Don't start drinking an extra gallon of water a day - that can kill you, especially if you are fasting or eating very little. Water taken in must be in balance with body salt - electrolytes. The body needs to maintain salt balance or risk hyponatremia with heart attack and even death. Drinking too much water dilutes the salt in your blood and tissues - and can kill you. Healthy athletes have died from drinking too much plain water and not replacing salt. Dieters should not plunge into drinking gallons of water a day in hopes of burning a few more calories. Drink an extra few glasses, yes. But a gallon is too much.

Love is not based on sex. It is the maturation of friendship, which makes sex so much sweeter. You must be friends before you can be lovers.

Infatuation lacks confidence. When they're away, you wonder if they're cheating. Sometimes, you check.

Love means trust. You are calm, secure and unthreatened. They feel your trust, and it makes them even more trustworthy.

Infatuation might lead you to do things you will regret, but love never steers you in the wrong direction.

Love is an upper. It makes you feel whole. It completes the circle. It fills the empty space in your heart.

INFATUATION

Infatuation is a feeling; real love involves a commitment also. Infatuation is just love of emotion. Real love, though, is love of devotion. Only the emotions are affected in infatuation, but in real love both the emotions and the will are involved. Next, a person "fall into" infatuation, but "grows into" real love.

Guys, have you ever seen a girl who was so beautiful that you thought you'd faint?
This is infatuation! It is based totally on physical attraction. often you don't know much in-depth about the person you so-called love. Thus, infatuation is mostly biological. Also remember, never tell a girl you love her, unless you are willing to marry her.

12. Love does not seek its own. This is the heart of love. Love is other-centred rather than self- centred. Love says, "I love you, I want to give to you." Selfishness says, "I love you, I want you!"

13. Love does not act unbecomingly. This means that love does not behave disgracefully, dishonourably or indecently. It does not embarrass others by its action. It is characterised by tact and sensitivity. This also means that love should have good manner. Be sure to do little things like opening doors for your girl, or offering her your arm when you walk together.

14. Lastly, Love is forgiving. This is a MUST for a successful love story. If a guy is not willing to forgive and forget when his girlfriend is one hour late, he is not exhibiting love. Love doesn't hold grudges when it has been wronged. It doesn't remain resentful.

Mina Gurung, Senior Beautician and a Social Worker



Every girl wants to look beautiful and graceful. Mina Gurung is a beautician, who helps to fulfill this feminine dream. She is one of the most senior and skilled beautician of Pokhara. She takes her work as an art rather than duty and helps other to learn this art also. She provides her service through her parlor “Hong Beauty Parlour” which is situated in Mahendra Pool. Apart from the general beautician therapy, she also provides trainings to the interested students.
She was born to Mr. Krishna Gurung and Mrs. Dhan Kumari Gurung. She did her schooling from Amarsingh Boarding School. She was married to Mr. Chatra Bahadur Gururng in 2034 B.S. at a tender age of fifteen. She then moved to Hong Kong with her husband.

Like many others, she had an aim to become independent, successful and of course earn fame and money. Her first job was in a kinder garden, Hong Kong. There she also hosted a radio program in BFBS for about six years. She had a dream to become a beautician from her childhood, so to fulfill her dream, she thought of taking beautician training in her leisure time. With the help and support of her husband, she took beautician training classes. After finishing her training, she even opened a parlor in Hong Kong in the year 1988 AD. She ran this parlor till 1990 AD. Then, to excel her art in feminine beauty, she went to Singapore and Brunei to take advance level of beautician training. The training and experience brought confidence on her and through which she achieved the position that the most women dreams.
After this, in the year 1991, she returned to Nepal to open her own beauty parlor. In the beginning, she opened a parlour in her own house and later she moved the parlor to Mahendra pool and named it as “Hong Kong Herbal Beauty Institute”. The scope of parlor was increased from the beautician service to beautician training. Currently, this parlor is an hot spot for the ladies in the town and is running tremendously. The institute has even trained around 4000 – 4500 personals in different level of beautician course. She has even launched branches in Kathmandu as well as in other parts of Pokhara.

She is a successful entrepreneur and it wouldn’t be wrong to call her an all rounder, as she is engaged in various activities. Apart from her basic work, she hosts a program in Radio Annapurna and is actively working for various social organizations. She thinks beautician training is a vocational training which will immediately make people skillful which will teach them to fish financially. Recently, to uplift the homosexual people, the marginalized group of society, she arranged a three months beautician training for them. The cost of this project was financed from the portion of her profit. She is aware of her social responsibility, so she has made a cash reserve from donating seven percent of her profit, to help the poor and disabled women.

To make the voice of beautician heard and to bring every beautician under the same umbrella, she planned to make a National Beautician Union. Thus, in 2051 B.S., she organized a National Beautician Union with the help of other beautician all over Nepal. She is the chairman of this union today. According to her, National Beautician Union should mostly focus to establish educational sector relating to beauty. It should give emphasis to find solution regarding the health as well as beauty related queries. The job of beautician is tough and only the person who knows to appreciate it as an art would excel in this field thus one should be qualified to take this profession as a carrier. To make the beautician more qualified and internationally competent, candidate who have appeared plus two should only be permitted to take this as their profession. They should first get their qualification certificate from the organization like CTEVT and other similar organization to open their own business.

Apart from this, she is engaged in various organization like; She is the treasurer of Tamu Sansar community, managing director of Kaski Sandesh newspaper, secretary of the Gorkha Community Paschimanchal sector, member of the Lion’s club, etc.

Here is an excerpt of her interview

When did you enter in this profession and whom do you take your inspiration as?
I started this profession from 1991 and I got my inspiration from my husband Mr. Chatra Bahadur Gurung.

At that time our Society was also very conservative and ladies weren’t given much freedom as they have now. How was the response of the society and the people when you started this parlour?
During that time also women were very conscious about their beauty as they are now. The only difference is that, at that time women used to come to the parlour, get their makeup done and go out with their face covered. As the society was conservative, we didn’t get good response orally from them and we had to face hurdles while working.

As a wife of an army officer, you could have just stayed home. But you preferred to work and now you have a well-established business of your own. How would you explain this?
Well when I started my parlour, there were altogether three to four other parlours. As a wife of an army officer, I never had the feeling to remain idle. I always felt that I should do something of my own and my husband also gave me a full support. When I was in Honkong, it was my husband who persuaded me to take this as the profession. Due to my capability and my husband’s support, I am able to reach this height.

How would you define beauty as?
Beauty doesn’t only mean our outer appearance but it is a mixture of inner and outer looks.

How do take Politics as?
In our country the Politician have totally ruined the word called politics, they have taken it in a different aspect. If the present scenario is a politics, then I would define it as a dirty game and one should never get engaged in it.

If you were appointed as the prime minister of our country, which criteria would you give your first preference?
I am a responsible citizen and I think that I am fully capable to be the prime minister of our country. If I was appointed as the prime minister then I would emphasis to make a rule, where women would be given equal rights and freedom and there wouldn’t be any gender difference.

Who is your favorite politician and why?
I haven’t met much politician and among the few I like Rabindra Adhikari, as he is well cultured. I like his thought of reuniting and trying to make a new beginning of our country.

Would you like to share your happy and sad moments?
I was really sad at the demise of my beloved Kanchi Aama and the happiest moment was in the year 2051, we all beauticians had a grand gathering, I really enjoined a lot at that time.

As you are a busy person, how do you manage your routine?
Well my daily routine goes like this - I get up at 5 am in the morning, get fresh and do some praying (puja). After that for at least one hour, I do some Yoga. Then I take my breakfast and water my plants. I am quite a homely person, so I like to do my household works myself. After all my household works are finished I leave for parlour. I then give briefing classes to my staffs. If there are any meetings then I go to attend them and return back to parlour. I have to deal with various customers in the parlour and satisfy their request. Then I take classes of the new trainee. And in the evening, after my work is done, I return home and get freshed. I watch some news channels in the evening. After that I go through some religious books, as it gives relief from the daily work schedule. I always take some time to make a list of things that I have done in that particular day. Then I have my dinner and go to bed.

How do you define life as?
I think the true color of life is in a free society, where you can work without any obstacle or restriction and create a more developed society.

How to Avoid Pimples


Instructions
1. Wash face 2-3 times daily.
2. Use a gentle, water-soluble cleanser and tepid water.
3. Apply a medicated cream, such as benzoyl peroxide, to potential problem areas.
4. Use non-comedogenic moisturizers and makeup.
5. Avoid overmoisturizing the skin. Use the lightest-weight moisturizer necessary.

How to Remove a Broken Contact Lens


In earlier times, contact lenses were made from glass and generally came in the size of your entire eyeball. Should one of these lenses break in your eye, it could prove a serious hazard. Today, however, modern contacts are made from better material. Modern hard contacts are difficult to break or crack: if struck in the eye with enough force to break the lens, the strike itself would be much more of a concern. Modern soft contact lenses can tear, but rarely cause damage to the eye.

Instructions
Locating and Removing Broken Contact Lens with Assistance

1. Check for the contact lens. Ask someone to assist you. Looking down toward your nose, lift the upper lid as far as comfortably possible.
2. Instruct your assistant to look under the upper lid for the lens. Locate the lens.
3. Retrieve the lens. Keeping your gaze downward, begin rubbing the exterior of your eyelid. Use an outward motion over the eyelid, from the nasal side out towards the temple. The contact lens should slide to an area of your eye where you or your assistant can easily retrieve it.

Locating and Removing Broken Contact Lens by Self

1. Identify the position of the broken lens on the eyeball. Stand in front of a mirror. Open your eye as wide as possible and continually move the eyeball in wide circular motions until the lens is visible.
2. Add saline eye drops to the eye. This will add flexibility in removal of the lens.
3. Grasp the lens with your thumb and index finger. Pull it away from the eye.

Removing Hidden Broken Contact Lens

1. Get a small glass, such as a shot glass. Fill it with warm saline eye solution or, if necessary, slightly-salted purified water.
2. Standing, lean forward over a sink. Hold the glass of solution over your eye. Cup your eye tightly, forming a seal. Ensuring the glass is over the eye and the eye is open, completely bathe the eye with the solution.
3. While flooding the eye, move your eyeball around in wide circular motions. The broken lens should be loosened by the solution-bath, falling out eventually. Repeat the process as necessary.

Tips & Warnings

- Once the broken contact lens is successfully removed, barring no significant damage, your eye will feel immediately relief. When a contact lens is broken or lost in the eye, most of the time it is folded under your upper eyelid. Some contact lenses tear, or "break" easier than others. The water content of the lens, the material from which it's made, and its thickness, are all factors that contribute to the breaking of a contact lens. The primary factor for tearing or "breaking" a contact lens is dryness. Keeping your eyes and your contact lenses moist and hydrated will reduce the chances of them tearing. If several attempts at locating and removing the broken contact lens prove unsuccessful, be comforted that the eyeball will naturally flush it out in time. Both the upper and lower eyelid are connected the eyeball itself. This means that a contact lens cannot hide in the lower eyelid and, though it can and does often conceal itself in the upper eyelid, the lens cannot go far there either.

- Do not panic about a lost contact lens in your eye. A contact lens under the eyelid is not painful and does not cause any damage. Additionally, most contact lenses today are soft, or not made from glass. Therefore even a broken lens will not likely cause damage to the eye. Do not go to sleep with a broken lens in the eye. The eyeball dries out at night (since blinking is infrequent). Consequently, if you rub the eye while asleep, the broken lens can scratch the eyeball. Never use fingernails to remove or handle a contact lens. Do not put a torn or broken contact lens back into your eye once it has been removed.

9 Reasons People Cheat


Cheating is not a caught in the moment thing if you are really into your significant other, you miss them when you are not with them, you don't look for a way to hurt or deceive them.

So, are cheaters born cheaters, or do certain situations cause people to cheat? Probably a little bit of both. Here are some situations that make people cheat:

1. Bored
This is the most common reason that people cheat. It's tough to keep that edge throughout a relationship. Things start off grand and then level off and then you both realize that it's still real life. When you meet someone else, that inaugural excitement of a new relationship kicks back in.

2. Dependence
At first glance, cheating seems like independent behavior. It could be interpreted as doing what you want, when you want. A cheater is dependent because they are not strong enough to break up with their significant other in order to get with the new person.

3. Confusion
Sometimes life or a particular situation can get to you. When the perfect storm of confusion is going on in your head, you make mistakes.

4. Because They Let You
If any girl ever cheated on you, You'd break up with her immediately. Forgiving a cheater is putting up with it, and starts a vicious cycle. That person who cheated may lose respect for you and might continue to cheat-because they know they can get away with it, because you'll continue to take them back.

5. Nurturing
If someone is mistreating you, then your first instinct is to get away from him or her. But sometimes it's not that simple-maybe you are raising kids together. If you feel trapped in a bad relationship, it's only natural that you will run to the open arms of a person who treats you well.

6. Revenge
This is quite simple- an eye for an eye. Cheat on them if they cheat on you. If they continuously hurt you or abuse you in some way, you do it to get them back.

7. Confirmation of Attractiveness
Sometimes when you're in a long relationship, or if your significant other is taking you for granted, you begin to wonder if you're still attractive. Perhaps, because you were out on the dating circuit, you felt more attractive when you were single. If you have an affair, you've proven that a new person can be attracted to you.

8. The Thrill
Some people just enjoy the thrill of cheating: running around secretly, risking getting caught, andcreating thrilling moments with a forbidden romance.

9. They Don't Consider It Cheating, Even Though You Might
Relationships have that grey area, usually right before you become exclusive. He thinks date #4 is when you're "together," and you think date #2 is when you're "together." If you haven't talked about exclusivity, someone may think they are well within their rights to see other people, even though the other person in the relationship may not.

Why people don't break up as soon as they have an urge to cheat. Is it natural to have temptation, or is temptation a sign that the relationship is losing its fire? Cabin waitresses subjected to sexual exploitation

"I constantly wish I could be run over by a car and killed," said Rekha Biswakarma, a traumatised waitress, who works at a cabin bar in the capital, Kathmandu. She was raped by a client and threatened by her employer to keep quiet or lose her job. Her colleagues told the 20-year-old to forget the incident, warning that she would never be able to afford the court costs and had no evidence to prove the crime. But forgetting such an ordeal has proven impossible. Biswakarma has tried to commit suicide several times but stopped herself for the sake of her five-year-old daughter.

Two years ago, she and her husband arrived in the capital to escape their impoverished lives in Makwanpur District where they constantly suffered food shortages for lack of income. They depended on her husband's work for a local farm and barely made US$1 a day. Her situation deteriorated in Kathmandu after her husband left her and disappeared. She had some friends working in the cabin restaurants and they offered to find her a job as a waitress but did not tell her what the job really entailed; she only found out when she was sexually abused and raped in her first week.

Cabin bars, established during the mid-1990s in the capital as part of the entertainment sector, have since become venues for forced prostitution, according to local NGOs. Each bar has separate and private cabins where the waitress has to "entertain" the clients to encourage them to spend lavishly on alcohol and food. The waitresses, aged between 15 and 25, are mostly migrant workers from the villages in nearby poor districts such as Lalitpur, Dhading, Nuwakot, Sindupalchowk, Kavre and Dolakha. Most of them are barely literate, divorced, internally displaced persons and/or victims of domestic violence, according to a local NGO, Saathi, which runs a project creating a safe environment for the cabin-bar waitresses.

"They should shut down all these bars or all the girls will keep on getting sexually exploited openly and without any control," said Biswakarma.

She is one of thousands of waitresses in the capital who suffer severe forms of sexual exploitation, including molestation, rape and violence, at the hands of both clients and bar owners. According to the Nepal Restaurant Entrepreneurs Association, there are more than 20,000 waitresses working in 800 cabin restaurants and bars in Kathmandu. "Their stories have always remained under-reported in the media and their situation remains grossly neglected by the government," said Uma Lama, an activist from Saathi. One of the reasons why the waitresses do not get enough police and legal protection is because they are often portrayed as commercial sex workers in the local tabloids, she explained.

Lama, who has worked on protecting the cabin waitresses for eight years, says she has met scores of women like Biswakarma who have been raped or sexually abused. Most continue with their jobs because they have no alternative.

Re-training programmes

"A lot of my friends became sex workers after they were raped, abused and forced to have sex with clients because they felt there was nobody to protect them and it was better to agree and make a better income," said Sabita Chettri, a former cabin waitress.

Chettri was rescued by Saathi and provided with temporary shelter and training as a masseuse; she now works at Himalayan Healers, an eminent spa centre, which is also helping to provide jobs to sexually exploited waitresses.

Saathi has been helping 200 waitresses through its Gainful Employment Programme, which started in 2007, and trains them in security work, clinical care assistance, care-giving, massage, painting, driving, tailoring and as beauticians. Private companies have also joined up with Saathi to provide them with jobs after their training. Recently, the NGO helped to rescue 55 waitresses, 32 of whom were younger than 16. "The crimes against these women are so horrendous inside the cabins that we are often in tears when these victims tell us their stories," said Sulaksana Rana, an activist from Saathi, who also works as a counsellor. "Most are extremely vulnerable as they lack protection and are very poor and have to survive on the sympathy of the clients, who are ruthless and dangerous," Rana explained.
